First make sure the OAT, RPM, FF, and the MP are all working correctly, then follow the procedure below. ** (Note: MP must be calibrated first on the ground – engine off. See your EDM Pilot’s Guide for this procedure.)
Using the aircraft flight manual- POH. At cruise – 5000′ – adjust aircrafts RPM and MP for around 70% HP and follow steps 1-6.
1. Go to pilot PROGRAM mode (Hold both buttons to see PROGRAM).
2. Tap STEP until you see HP-? N and tap the LF button to change this to HP? Y. You will see the %HP appear on top of EDM display.
3. Now hold both buttons until the display changes to HPC= xxx. (ex: HPC= 120 )
4. Set the engine to a known power level using the aircraft flight manual- POH. At cruise – 5000′ – adjust aircrafts RPM and MP for around 70% HP per POH.
5. Hold or tap the LF button until the HP reading on the EDM display matches the percent (%) horsepower of the engine per your POH.
6. Tap STEP to exit. You will see the word SET and then it will automatically kick you out of the PROGRAM mode.
7. Now go to 7500′ and follow the same procedure – 1-6 -again at that altitude.
