The EDM-930 shows a black screen and a “Data Communication Error” message at start up or during operation. Check the J1(P1) 25 pin Power/Option connector to see if anything is pinned into pins #11 and #24. If so remove these. Retry. If you still receive the“Data Communication Error” message, then the EDM will need to come in for repair. Please call Technical Support at 800-345-4574 for a RMA number before sending in.
Catastrophic errors. The only option the user has is to power the unit off and return it to JPI for repair.

“Configuration Error” on the 930. “Config Err” on the 900.
If the 900/930 is an ‘experimental’ model then reload the configuration in the EDM. Then power up the 900/930 when done. If the ‘Config Err’ message still comes up then the CPU board has an issue and the EDM will need to come in for repair.
If the 900/930 is a ‘primary’ unit, then follow the ‘key’ change procedure and remove the ‘key’ in the unit. This key is located under the EDM’s label. After following the steps in the Key procedure, and it still comes up with the error, then it will need to come in for repair – a CPU board issue.
